Background Check;

May we get to meet you; who really is OLUWABUKOLA JEGEDE?

I am a Simple, classy and vibrant young lady trying to impact and change lives, businesses and brands. In essence of building a great life for myself and my family and to be a badass in my field!

Can you please tell us about your background?

OLUWABUKOLA JEGEDE is a daughter, sister and the last child (the only girl) out of four children of the JEGEDE’s FAMILY. I was born in Onitsha, Anambra state but I’m from Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria.

Briefly tell us about your educational background?

I just finished technically from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. Where I studied Mass Communication (Public Relations and Advertising).

What do you do for a living?

I am a Brand Identity Designer, Product Designer, Public Relations Enthusiast and Content Creator. I am The Founder and Managing Director Giant Creative, a creative agency where brand’s problems are being solved through amazing ideals, effective branding strategies and implementation. I also own a show on YouTube platform, “Exodus by BUKOLA” where creativity and those wanting to forge into the creative industry can learn and grow through my personal experiences.

When did you know you wanted this job?

When I got to the University of Ilorin, it became clear to me that I’m meant to be in the creative industry and to thrive in it.

What career mistake has given you the biggest lesson?

Not having a niche. When I started designing, I explored and kept exploring but I wasn’t fulfilled…and I couldn’t say I was doing one thing. I had to sit down and find out what exactly I wanted to do and to be and I choose Branding to be my number one Career Path.

What dream did you have while growing up?

I wanted to be a Banker (I love money!!!). I always fantasized how I’ll be counting people’s money that isn’t mine but you know, and managing it. Then at some point I fell in love with fashion design. I sketched designs and wanted to bring them to reality. But it died.

How do you get to prepare before creating a content?

I plan ahead. My content means a lot to me. I know when I put contents out there, it would go places (at least I have Faith that my works will go far above my imagination). I think about the message I want to pass across, how I’ll put it to convey that message to my audience and I write them down or record (if I will design, make a video or post a picture with a caption, I decide here) and then I take some time to look at it and then execute.

What was your first win that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

When I saw my design printed and it was everywhere! That was a magazine design I made for my department. I was so proud of myself. I designed this! Oh wow! I became confident.

Who is your mentor and why?

I really don’t have a mentor. But if we talk about humans, I have people who I learn from. I learn from their wins and mistakes and ask questions when I need to. The likes of AYANFEOLUWA (The Billionaire Printer), IFEOLUWA SOPEJU, DR. KEHINDE KADIRI (The Founder, The Grassroots Aid Initiative) and some other significant people. Above all, I won’t fail to acknowledge Jesus as my greatest Mentor!

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I love reading and seeing movies.

If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?

How can I stay relevant and be a blessing to generations to come?

Can you please tell us about the people you admire?

I admire people who are smart, intelligent and those who love others!

Are in a relationship; if yes what advice would you give to young couple out there?

I’m not in a relationship

Are you ever depressed and why?

I’ve been depressed. When I wasn’t okay with the way things were going in my life. But I prayed about it and I became victorious!

What are some of your achievements?

I’ve won at least 7 awards while I was in the University of Ilorin. I was recognized for my excellence and hard work in building my brand, impacting people and serving others.

I’ve also been privileged to speak at conferences, workshops, online webinars and boot camps with other creatives and tech gurus in the industry.

Where do you hope to be in the next for?

I will be soaring high, impacting & changing lives and making money in the creative industry by the Grace of God.
