In an exclusive interview with Abigail Odelade, granted Bayo Speaks as a face of the week. She revealed her background, spirituality, lifestyle, career and achievements.

May we get to meet you; who really is Abigail Odelade?

YES, Abigail Odelade is a missionary and humanitarian. Can you please tell us about your background?

Abigail is a native of Ogbomoso, Oyo State region of Nigeria. She comes from a family of 4. Her parents are serving ministers in the Christ Apostolic Church.

Briefly tell us about your educational background?

I had my primary education across different states of Nigeria, giving that my parents were always on transfers. But I was able to finish from Glory Nursery and Primary school, Shomolu, Lagos. My secondary school certificate was obtained from Federal Government College, Ogbomoso. I had my tertiary education in Delta State University, Abraka. Afterwards, I have gained different professional certificates across different private training institutes within Nigeria.

What do you do for a living?

I am an entrepreneur. My entrepreneurial journey cuts across real estate, brand administration and project management. I have been privileged to work with prestigious companies and individuals home and abroad in helping them build solid brand structures and sustainable wealth.

When did you know you wanted this job?

The moment I realized that to make the type of impact I wanted, I have to step out of my comfort zone. Then I became conscious about building the future I wanted to see by taking intentional steps.

What dream did you have while growing up?

I have always dreamt of making impact and building capacities in people.

How do you get to prepare a content before publication?

It was not a walk in the park. There were times I will go sleepless for days just to build a chapter. I was greatly helped by my coach who never stopped showing me the next turn to take.

Can you briefly tell us about your new book the Emergences of Queens and what was your inspiration?

EMERGENCE OF QUEENS is a complete diet that opens the awareness of readers to who they are, what they carry on the inside, and the extent of impact they can make if only they dare to rise! It is a useful tool for individuals, organizations, students and platforms to bring women to self-awareness, capacity building, hunger for drive and purpose-driven life. I was inspired to write this book in 2020 by the Holy Spirit who has in previous years, been leading me to organize seminars, conferences and events that focus on the issues of identity denial, low self-esteem, lack of passion and drive for purpose, fear and lack of courage which were all addressed in the book. My encounters with several ladies at different point in life, the choices they made, the standard lifestyles they lived which went contrary to Gods will also became a part of my inspiration to write Emergence Of Queens.

Do you think Authors are struggling to sell their books; if yes, what can be done?

As my coach said, I think the major problem with struggling authors is the lack of a well-articulated marketing strategy before the book launch. I believe if an active marketing strategy can be inculcated in the plans for the book launch, then selling should happen naturally.

What was the first win that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

I had peace in my spirit and felt fulfilled each time I completed another chapter. When I still teach these same topics in seminars, there were massive feedback and transformations in the lives of attendees. With these in view, I was fully convinced to keep writing.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love to read. When I am not studying, I am taking very deep rest.

If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?

Can we escape failures and trials on our  journey to greatness?

Are you in a relationship; if yes, what advice would you give to young couples out there?

Marital relationship is a journey between two destiny and purpose-aligned individuals. This is usually a major cause of many future problems among couples because the basic criteria were ruled out during the decision of making on the type of person to marry. This topic is broadly discussed in my book Emergence Of Queens.

Can you please tell us about the people you admire?

I admire a lot of people in and around my life. But, I’ll spotlight few women who have impacted my life through their works and choices.   I greatly admire Ophra Winfrey. Her desire to impact is second to none. I admire Ibukun Awosika, A woman of resilience and strong will. I admire the great Maya  Angelou whose words of wisdom transcend time and serve as templates for a meaningful life.

Sometimes people feel that life is not worth living. Can you tell us how you feel about your own life?

I feel blessed to have the gift of life. I realize that, when God counts you worthy of your breath, then it is for a divine purpose. I live every day excited for the next route God wants to take me through.

What are some of your achievements?

Well, I am privileged to have published my book Emergence Of Queens, which is now selling on Amazon and selar. I also released my first single titled “Hallelujah” in 2018. Most of all, I am grateful for the lives God has transformed and still transforming over the past 6 years through the Unity Of Beauties Platforms. So far, the Unity Of Beauties has produced 4 graduates from lucrative skill and acquisition programs, and groomed people who have grown from a dependent lifestyle to becoming CEO, Managers, Founders and successful career men and women.
