In an exclusive interview with Peace Bessong, granted Bayo speaks as a face of the week. She revealed her background, lifestyle and career.

May we get to meet you; who really is Peace Bessong?
Peace Bessong is an up and coming Nollywood actor. I’m from cross river state and a graduate of Mass communication.

What prompted you into acting?
I’ve always loved acting as a child, from school dramas, church plays and stage plays. so
i eventually deciding to grow a career in acting.

What was your first film and how did you get the role?
My first film was Corpers Lodge, a soap opera. A role I earned via auditioning.

What are your challenges and achievement in the film industry?
Tribalism, some film makers will not engage you if you are not from a certain tribe.
Another challenges is stereotype. People wanting a certain actor to play a particular role even when they’ve out grown it.

Can you briefly tell us about Nollywood and the film industry in Nigeria?
The film industry, which is the 2nd largest movie industry globally has added value to several young people by creating Job opportunities and giving a platform to express their talents.

What are your expectations for 2022 and Advice to young actors and those who intend to be an Actor?
As a young an up coming actor, my expectation in 2022 is to be in a better place, career wise and to use the
acting Platform to add value to the society and to be a voice to the vulnerable.

As an up and coming actor my advice to intending actors, add value to yourself, go to school, realize that acting is a journey not a destination. It might not pay immediately but with patients and the right attitude the big break will come. Lastly, do not compare yourself to others and keep improving on what you do.
