In an exclusive interview with Olamide Williams, granted Bayo Speaks as a face of the week. She revealed her background, lifestyle, career and achievements.

Olamide Williams is the founder of The Mediapreneur Network. A Freelance content writer, Tutor and a Social Entrepreneur.  

She has penchant for people, brands and her career choice in the field of Media and Content Consulting has been fueled by a drive to work closely with people in a circle of influence.

May we get to meet you; who really is Olamide Williams?

I am Olamide Williams and I love to be called Mide. I am an energetic young Nigerian who enjoys inspiring people to grow. I am a soft life babe but I work because my tomorrow depends on it.

Also, I am a Freelance Content Writer, Tutor, Social Entrepreneur, the Founder of The Mediapreneur Network and a Medical Student.

 Can you please tell us about your background?

I was born and bred in Akure, Ondo into a large polygamous family and the 3rd of 5 girls from my Mum.

Briefly tell us about your educational background?

I attended Comfort Tenderfeet Nursery and Primary SchoolAkure and proceeded to Federal Government Girls College, Akure. I had my first degree in Microbiology in University of Abuja and I am currently Studying Physiotherapy in Glocal Medical School, India.

 What do you do for a living?

I am a Freelance Content Writer and Consulting.

 What do you enjoy most about being a MediaPreneur?

Mediapreneur pushes me to learn more. There are a lot of Media entrepreneurs around and as we evolve, you get to learn new things.

How do you get to prepare content before presenting a speech?

 I ensure that I do my research, no matter how little. I am a very enjoyable person so I put my personality into teaching.

Can you share a time you were at work and thought “I love doing this; I can’t believe I’m getting paid right now?”

 Yes, I used to write content for a brand where I was employed as a secretary when I was in Abuja. My salary was 10k at that time. Now, I get paid in 6 figures for doing things I do for my friends and family for free.

Was there a career setback you faced which you later realized was an advantage?

I was so sad when I was moving to India. I didn’t have a work visa so I didn’t think it was possible to do anything apart from schooling. Looking back now, being in India has helped me stay away from noise and keeping my heads up.

Do you think brands will suffer without Content Writing?

Well, I do not think a brand will live long if they don’t connect with their audience emotionally and that’s what great content do.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I like to Sleep and spend time with my friends

 Describe yourself in one word?

 Ambitious

 Can you share with us an embarrassing moment where you were able to laugh at yourself?

Those days when I used to stalk celebrities, Omg… I can stalk people ehnn…

Which five companions dead or alive, would you like to invite to a dinner party?

My 4 sisters and my Mum

In what ways are people from your industry making a difference in the world?

Digital creators are doing great things and I am super proud. A lot of people are learning and making money right in the corner of their rooms.

 What are some of your achievements?

 Building the Mediapreneur Community from scratch to over 250 communities Members Helping my clients achieve their goals.

Where do you hope to be in the next four years?

I see myself making impact in Africa as a voice in the creative and Media industry.
