In an exclusive interview with Ojekunle Funke, granted Bayo Speaks as a face of the week. She revealed her background, lifestyle, career and achievements.

Funke Ojekunle is a Social media manager and an Economist.  She is disciplined, determined, diligent, and dedicated with sound moral values, good working relationships with a high sense of responsibility driven by value, addition and impact.

She is very articulated and her passion in uplifting brands and individuals has earned her numerous awards and recognition for her work.

May we get to meet you; who is Ojekunle Funke?

Can you please tell us about your background?

I’m from the southwestern part of Nigeria (Oyo State), I was born in Ondo state, and I’m the 6thChild of my parents out of 7 Children.

Briefly tell us about your educational background.

I am a graduate of Economics from Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Recently, i just concluded my National Youth Service Corps(NYSC).

What do you do for a living?

I’m a Social media manager, in which I help brands to gain visibility online most especially on LinkedIn.

When did you know you wanted this job?

Right from my final year in school (400 level), I took several skills that can help my journey as a social media manager.

What dream did you have while growing up?

My dream is to become an Economist.

How do you get to prepare content before publication?

I prepare my content using a content calendar which helps me to create content very well and when due.

What was the first win that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

For the very first time, I stood on a stage and enlightened people on how to go global with the use of social media most especially LinkedIn. At this point, I knew I was doing the right thing.

 Which five companions, living or dead, would you like to invite to a dinner party?

Tomilayo, Mary,  Denu Bon, Matthew Tayo, Azeezat.

Do you think Authors are struggling to sell their books; if yes, what can be done?

Not all authors are struggling while some are struggling to sell their books. My advice to struggling authors is to make use of social media judiciously, through this means they can promote their books on platforms such as Amazon, and affiliate programs.

Describe yourself in one word?

I’m Authentic

As a management consultant, how do manage people, especially those that are stubborn?

Managing people can be so hard but how I manage people, especially those that are stubborn is by giving them full attention and give them listening hear by this we tend to understand each other. I do more listen

What are some of your achievements?

  • I had more than 15 speaking engagements both online and offline
  • I organized my first paid LinkedIn training which over 90 people registered for    the first edition
  • I grew my LinkedIn account to over 11k followers organically I have students all over the world from Nigeria, Canada, the UK, the United States, Bahrain, India, Dubai UAE
  • I did a Human Resource Management course and I’m now a certified HR manager

 Where do you hope to be in the next four years?

Dominating the Media Space.
