Our Woman Crush Wednesday, Varaidzo (Vee) Kativhu, a 25-year-old YouTube visionary and education activist, is the dedicated founder of Empowered by Vee, a prominent youth empowerment organization. Through her influential social media presence with over 300,000 followers, she shares valuable advice and guidance, empowering underprivileged and underrepresented individuals worldwide to recognize their academic potential and self-worth.

Vee is a distinguished alumna of both Oxford University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and Harvard University, where she obtained a master’s degree in International Education Policy. Her unwavering commitment to bridging educational inequality has earned her prestigious recognition, including the Diana Award Legacy Award from Prince Harry and Prince William, the United Kingdom Rare Rising Star title by members of the British Parliament, and the esteemed position of Diversity Champion, appointed by the Vice Chancellor of Oxford University. Vee is also a dedicated Young Leader for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Beyond her academic and advocacy achievements, Vee is an active volunteer and fundraiser, particularly for education-focused charities. She currently serves as an ambassador for organizations like United World Schools, CAMFED, and Girl Up Zimbabwe, a United Nations Foundation charity.

As she continues her journey, Vee aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on improving girls’ education throughout the African continent. She firmly believes in the pivotal role of female empowerment in the development of low-income countries. Recently, Vee authored her debut book, “Empowered: Live Your Life with Passion and Purpose,” a motivational self-help book tailored to empower young people. Her accomplishments also extend to roles as a Linkedin Changemaker, TEDx speaker, and BBC Teach presenter, where she has garnered numerous accolades. With her remarkable story and dedication, Vee stands as an inspiration and continues to leave a mark in the sand of time.
