She then explained that she is growing out her armpit hair because she didn’t want her and her partner’s nine-month-old daughter Svea to be “tainted by patriarchal societal norms”.

She began her post by saying: “There has been no greater time for reflection in my life than since becoming a mother.

“It is so important to me that my daughter grows up loving herself and having the freedom to be exactly who she wants to be without being tainted by patriarchal societal norms.

“I have reflected on every aspect of my life and questioned why it is I do certain things. Something as simple as the hair that grows on my body, to the language I use about myself. It has made me question everything.”

Isabella went on to say that so much of her life is “dictated by what society thinks women should be” when the only person who should be in charge “is me”.

She continued: “I never want Svea to feel shame or judgement for being who she is. I want her natural self to be her favourite self.

“I never want her to want to change anything about herself in fear of other people‘s opinions and judgement.

“She’s only nine months old but I’m still trying to live every day to be the best role model I can for her.”
