Background Check;

May we get to meet you; who really is Vivian Daniel?

My name is Vivian Daniel. A content creator (writer), storyteller, media, communication, public relations professional, voice-over artist (in English and Igbo), and upcoming corporate compere and moderator.

Can you please tell us about your background?

I hail from Obinagu, Isikwe-Achi in Orji River LGA, Enugu State but was born in Abia State.

Briefly tell us about your educational background?

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Post Graduate Diploma and certificates in Business Administration, Digital Media and Journalism, Introduction to Communication Skills and Effective Business Communications.

Also, I am a bonafide member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Abuja chapter and Chattered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, CIPM “in view”.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Media Practitioner serving officially at Independent Television & Radio, Abuja. Also, I am into Voice-overs, Scriptwriting, Transcribing, Editing and General Promotion of Businesses and Brands on Social and Traditional Media Platforms, as an entrepreneur. Alongside, Interior Design and Decoration.

What dream did you have while growing up?

Decades ago, I have always had people telling me to pursue a career in the media as I have the voice, charisma and personality. So, I have always known I would end up choosing journalism as my number one career. Even though I worked for a long time as a Secretary and Personal Assistant to senior executives in a couple of organizations.

I had wanted to pursue a career as one of the top-notch secretaries, marketing executives and celebrated gospel artistes to reckon with in the world. Also, I have always loved to be known “still longing to be known” as one of those successful careerwomen on this planet everyone hears and talks about for good.

Can you please tell us about your passion for storytelling and writing?

As a storyteller, I look forward to telling powerful, turning point and epoch-making stories for individuals (celebrities or not), top executives, personalities, CEOs and leaders in different fields, in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.

I also a have dream of launching my media company “IanMedia Global Solutions Limited” online and having a mega physical office while using the medium to do record-breaking documentaries and write biographies in a bid to increase the brand visibility and promotion of those involved, alongside becoming a part and parcel of more of their success stories.

What was your first win that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

The first win that made me confident that I am on the right path would be a post I made on March 8, 2021, International Womens’ Day where I defined WOMEN in my way, which had lots of engagements to my greatest surprise. Having been on LinkedIn prior to that day but wasn’t recognised, as I was always hopping in and out of the blue app only to scroll and watch what others were doing.

My second win would be when I got connected to someone through the same blue app as well, who within a short period we talked (although yet to meet him in person) brought me a rare opportunity for a remote job (where I earned in dollars) which also sustained me and my mother for a while. At a point, the man told me he admired my style of writing and the fact that I will say things as they are, be diplomatic whenever the situation warrants it and would ensure to add some humour when and where necessary.

The third would be when I received the #TIBA2021 LEADERSHIP AWARD OF THE YEAR on November 2021. In less than a year since I started showing up on LinkedIn. Meaning, I was (I am) being seen as a leader in one way or another.

As a storyteller what was your greatest regret?

My greatest regret would be major days and or celebrations in the world I would have loved to write, document and post one or two stories but couldn’t due to my tight schedule at work and forgetfulness alongside laziness on some rare occasions…Lol!

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I love to give myself amazing treats (have fun in the healthiest way possible, go for massage sessions). I love to sing or listen to good music (it relaxes my nerves and keeps me in check… ‘wink’). I read books, attend online or physical events (music concert and personal development events), hang out (alone or with friends), watch movies and go to the gym for aerobics.

Which five companions dead or alive, would you like to invite to a dinner party?

My one and only late older sister, Evangelist Sarah Uka Udeh, my late friend, Oluwayemisi Louisa Adefarasin (she just died on November 1st, 2022), Mary Okoh, my pastor and mentor, Architect Sola Adesoye and last but not least, Momah Onyenuwa.

Sometimes people feel that life is not worth living, can you tell us how you feel about your own life?

I always feel excited about life, especially about being alive and healthy. I am one of those who see being alive as a rare opportunity to make a positive difference wherever I am. My greatest joy is being able to put a genuine smile on those around me, hence I ensure to leave that mark anywhere I go. And for the record, that doesn’t mean I don’t get angry over issues or with some people but mark my word, I will always ensure we make up almost immediately and see you smile in the end. My life is so good, peaceful, and exciting especially because I try living it in God and as Jesus’ baby. Even as I have not gotten ‘THERE Yet”, I rejoice at all times and in every situation I am faced with because I am no longer where I used to be in all ramifications.

More importantly, I am always happy knowing they are many out there who hold me in high esteem, those whom I have impacted ”and still impacting” their lives, and some who would love to be like me one way or another… ‘smiles’.

What are some of your achievements?

My greatest achievements so far will be the following:

I having the rare opportunity to impact lives knowingly or unknowingly.

Being recognized and conferred with The Iconic Brand Awards, (TIBA) LEADERSHIP AWARD OF THE YEAR on November 20th 2021. In less than a year since I started showing up on LinkedIn.

Moderating some major events like… Innovate Africa 1.0, hosted by YouthUp Global. Empowering The African Business Gene, hosted by Olatunji B. Alonge. Global Youth Summit for Social Impact, organised by YouthUp Global where I interacted with the likes of Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Harold Graham, etc. Becoming a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. Finally, being able to start two out of my dream talk shows namely:

THE STARS SHOW about conversations on choosing your role models, who they are, what sets them apart, putting them in the spotlight and showcasing them, which is aired on Radio 89.7Fm Independent Radio, Abuja, every Saturday at 2:30 pm WAT;

VIEWPOINT taking on national issues trending or not and asking Nigerians their opinions on them. It is aired on Independent Television (ITV), Abuja. Monday to Thursday, between 7 and 9 am WAT.

Where do you hope to be in the next four years?

I hope to be well recognized as one of the top brands to reckon with on LinkedIn and in my profession. My media company IanMedia Global Solutions Limited would have started executing and closing major business deals, engage in some empowerment programs that will make it one of the sought-after companies for brands and executives and business promotion. I hope to have about 500k followers or close to it on LinkedIn, I would have finished both my masters and PhD degrees.

Last but not the least, in the next 4-5 years I would have gotten married to my prince charming and finished giving birth to my children…smiles.
