Background Check:

May we get to meet you; who really is Blessing Ododo Inoghie?

Blessing Ododo Inoghie is a Jesus lover. She’s passionate about sharing her faith with others. I believe so much in the love and compassion that Jesus preached about and I make a conscious effort to portray this in my everyday life. I am a very nice person and I am the definition of humility.

Can you please tell us about your background?

I was born in Lagos, Nigeria in Africa. My dad was an Engineer whose job entailed travelling. He travelled to Belgium, Japan and other countries. He was hardly around and my mum was a home maker. I don’t like referring to her as a full-time housewife. My parents were amazing such that they raised us up in the way of the Lord. I remember my parents would always wake us up early for morning devotion.

Briefly tell us about your educational background?

I had my Elementary and High School in Lagos Nigeria. Both schools were public schools. We had good public schools’ way back then. The foundation I had then is what is helping me in my writing today. We had teachers that were dedicated and we had the necessary infrastructure. I attempted JAMB Examination several times but didn’t get admission into any of the universities. I eventually did the Polytechnic Examination in which i passed and went on to study Statistics at Federal Polytechnic Auchi. I have also attended several trainings and courses which seasoned me to be an ICF CERTIFIED Coach.

What do you do for a living?

I am a woman of many parts. I am a Personal Branding Consultant, Brand Visibility Strategist, Content Writer, LinkedIn Visibility Coach and a Content Writing Coach.

When did you know you wanted this job?

I actually started writing as a teenager. I remembered I had a little notebook where I wrote and I was always delighted to show my dad my writings. Eventually, I stopped writing and focused on other things. In 2022, COVID happened and I was stuck at home and it also affected my business as it had no online presence. I became so bored and I started spending time on Facebook. I was fascinated by the content that I read every day. Then, it dawned on me that I used to write way back. So i started writing again and the rest is history. I never knew I would end up Writing for a living and I am loving it.

What career mistake has given you the biggest lesson?

I don’t have any career mistake. I believe that everything that I have done has led me right here.

What dream did you have while growing up?

As a young girl, my dreams changed over time. There was a time, I wanted to be a ballerina. Later, I wanted to be an opera singer…. Very funny! But I eventually settled for a broadcaster and i had this dream long time ago.

What was the first win that made you confident that you were doing the right thing?

When I started writing CONTENT, I noticed that a lot of people loved and appreciated my content. That was enough motivation for me to do more.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I love reading in my spare time. I also love fellowshipping with God, spending time with family and friends and I love to travel.

If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?

I would ask how God can still love humanity in spite of all the wickedness perpetrated in the world.

Can you please tell us about the people you admire?

I love people that do not quit in spite of the odds against them. I admire people who are tenacious and go-getters. I admire people who love to help others grow. I love people who do not want to shine alone but want all those around them to also shine.

How do you get to prepare a content before publication?

Basically, the first thing is to define who your target audience is. You come up with a topic you want to write on, if there is need for you to carry out research, do so. Then write it, arrange it and edit. Remember, you are writing for your audience not you.

As a storyteller what was your greatest regret?

None. No regret whatsoever.

Do you think Authors are struggling to sell their books; if yes, what can be done?

Marketing is an art. It is a business skill that has to be acquired and mastered. Just because a book is good does not mean that it will sell.

There are strategies to be employed and implemented. One of the strategies is to create hype round the book long before it is launched. This will arouse interest in the book. There are so many other strategies. My advice to Authors is “Please find out how to sell your book”.

What are some of your achievements?

I am grateful to God that I have been able to impact lives through my content. People reach out to me every day to appreciate me for what I am doing. I believe that is the greatest achievement in the world. Impacting lives. By the grace of God, I have helped hundreds of people gain visibility on LinkedIn as a Brand Visibility Strategist. This has led to influence and more profit for them. I have trained over 500 people on digital skills FREE through the Content Creation Camp initiative. I have been able to make a difference by lending my voice in creating awareness on Depression, Suicide and Mental health issues.

Where do you hope to be in the next four years?

In the next four years, I will have a Writing School that trains people on various aspects of writing. I will have a call service that caters to the needs of depressed people. We’ll call to soothe and ease their minds. I believe that by then I would have impacted thousands of people through my content and books. I would have trained thousands of young people through the Content Creation Initiative.

When we discover purpose and are actually living it, lives become more fulfilling and worth living.
